Mary and Edward Norton Library of Ophthalmology

The Library is open to anyone seeking information on ophthalmology, the eye and vision.

The Mary and Edward Norton Library of Ophthalmology is located on the medical campus in the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute/Anne Bates Leach Eye Hospital on the ground floor. It is the Ophthalmology Branch of the Louis Calder Memorial Medical Library.

The hours are subject to change when there are staff vacations. Please call before visiting us. Norton Library is closed: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Birthday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, the Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Parking locations - Park Plaza East is across the street from the building. Valet parking is also available for a fee.

Self-service photocopy and computer searches are available. There is no charge for either.

Requests for copies of articles are available, per U.S. Copyright Guidelines. This service is offered to Department of Ophthalmology staff and alumni of the department. All others must request documents through Calder Medical Library.

Borrowing is available to UM/JMMC faculty, staff, and students, if they are borrowers in good standing with Calder Medical Library. Interlibrary Loans are available to Department of Ophthalmology staff and alumni of the department.

On-site access to electronic resources, such as full text journals, books, and databases, is available to all individuals. Remote access is available only to UM/JMMC faculty, staff and students.
